FreeCiv is turn by turn strategy game where the player can create and lead a civilization and protect it from incoming encounters and it is based on real human history.
How to play:
Your mission in the game is to build a powerful civilization in the world by competing others in construct cities and use it to support your military actions and economy, in the end you'll form an empire that can withstand all the challenges that will encounter, your opponent may be people or computers and you have to start from the prehistory and with small units compose from explorer and a few settlers, racing to the top from this humble start.
When firstly start you will find an empty land and from here you have to explore your surrounding relief such as rivers, forest, and mines and only the visited places will be available for you without their recent changes and to find out you must explore it again or by information pact, whenever you make a unit pass a certain distance it shows you how many turns required to reach the point and if you command a unit for example a soldier to fortify the effect will start in the end of that turn.
How to win:
To win you need to make a balance between military strength, economy growth, and technology development, by just survival of you nation and demolition of the others you'll considered winner or your tech advanced to settle the space you'll be a winner, if number of allowed turns and by default five thousand completed, it'll measure the overall final result and who gets more points is a winner.
